Asked Questions & Frequently Answered Answers

Q. Who
is Flourtown-Erdenheim Little League?
A. The
Flourtown- Erdenheim Little League was established in 1957
as a Chartered Little League. Our organization is
chartered by Little League International in Williamsport,
Pa. We are recognized as a 501(c)3 non profit
organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
In
short, the Flourtown-Erdenheim Little League is a volunteer
organization that provides Little League baseball programs
for the children of Flourtown and Erdenheim.
Q. Are
you associated with Springfield-Township?
A. While
our territory (boundary) includes the Flourtown-Erdenheim
area of Springfield Township, we are not sponsored by
Springfield Township. We have a lease agreement with
the Township for our facility. This is also true of
the Oreland Wyndmoor Little League.
Q. Can
anyone play for the Flourtown-Erdenheim Little League?
A.
Little League establishes boundaries for all Little Leagues
in operation. While we wish that we could admit all
who wish to join our league, you must be a resident of
Flourtown and Erdenheim, and live within our established
boundaries.
We start
with T-Ball (Age 5 by April 30th) and end with Senior League
(Age 16 by April 30th)
Q. When
are games played?
A. Our
season which runs from Mid April to Mid June offers games on
Weekends and Weeknights at our facility on Bysher Avenue.
In addition the Flourtown-Erdenheim Little League
participates in various tournaments which extends the season
to Mid to Late July. We also offer a fall ball program
for instruction.
Q. Do I
have to volunteer?
A. As

Our success depends on our volunteers. As part of your
agreement to have your child play, you must make a
commitment to volunteer in some fashion to help us operate.
Q. What
do your volunteers do?
A. We
ask for your help in running our snack bar, keeping the
fields well kept and helping the managers and coaches with
the children (team parents).
Q. Why
are your fees what they are?
A. We
strive to keep our registration fees low. Basically
the fees cover the cost of putting the players on the field.
Costs for Insurance, Charter, Uniforms, Trophies and Grass
Cutting and Field Maintenance are factored in.
Funds to
improve our facilities come from the Snack Bar, Team
Sponsors, our Golf Outing, and donations.
